Earlier in my career I was a martech entrepreneur and what I have noticed about the Smart Building space is that there is no equivalent of Scott Brinker‘s Marketing Technology Landscape Supergraphic. He’s the VP Platform Ecosystem at HubSpot and Editor at chiefmartec.com and you can see how his infographic has evolved from 150 solutions in 2011 to over 11,000 now below (read more here):
What I found interesting is the his slicing and dicing the martech landscape started with just the following 3 main categories that he has added to over the years:
- External Promotion
- Customer Experience
- Marketing Management
It strikes me that something similar could be co-created for the The Smart Building Technology Landscape collaboratively, starting with looking at ways that is being done. That’s the prompt for this blog along with how the human-cented design thinking of my MSc informs the way I look at Smart Buildings Space. In short, as an ecosystem of jobs-to-be-done by increasing number of stakeholders.
