Strategic Partnerships: Amplifying Digital Building Discourse

13 August 2024

In the dynamic landscape of the digital built environment, cultivating a prominent voice requires strategic engagement. In August 2024, the Digital Buildings Council (DBC) announced significant partnerships with three top industry events, setting the stage for months of impactful dialogue. These collaborations were a vital mechanism for advancing the DBC’s mission and demonstrating its value through proactive market engagement.

While the summer months often see a lull in activity for many organisations, efforts within the DBC were focused on consolidating initial Working Groups and planning for expansion. These event partnerships were a direct and powerful extension of this strategy, providing a crucial platform to bring emerging thinking into the public domain and to sense-check key issues believed to need addressing.

These event collaborations were a strategic means to promote the DBC and its core messages. They offered invaluable communication channels that were then amplified through social media, ensuring that the insights and expertise within the DBC reached a far wider audience. This significantly contributed to the DBC’s early brand visibility and helped position it as a source of clarity.

Panel sessions were curated, coordinated, and moderated at these events, directly linked to the DBC’s developing focus areas. These public discussions effectively brought the internal conversations, which form part of the DBC’s project initiatives, into the public domain. In turn, insights gleaned from these external dialogues would then feed into and further shape those project initiatives, creating a powerful, iterative cycle of influence. This constant interaction between internal strategy and external validation was key to ensuring the DBC’s work remained relevant and impactful.

The three key event partnerships facilitated were:

This proactive approach continuously drove content, fostered connections, and catalysed meaningful conversations, effectively showcasing the strategic value of the DBC and its members in a crowded and complex sector. It exemplifies how market engagement can serve as a potent force for building brand, shaping discourse, and driving industry progress.
